Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a Senior Mining Manager in Oman to oversee the transition from resources to reserves and to develop and implement efficient mining plans, schedules, and excavation designs. You will drive drilling, blasting, and mine production execution with strict adherence to standards.

You will lead resource-to-reserve conversions, pit design, and planning, collaborating with geologists to optimize grade control and cut dilution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years open pit mine production/planning experience.
• Experience in running a mining operation.
• BSc. in Mining Engineering.
• Certificates for mine design software like Deswik, Datamine, Surpac or Micromine.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transition of resources to reserves, ensuring accurate pit optimization, mine scheduling, and detailed mining plans.
• Define and classify total ore and waste to assess financial and economic feasibility.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term mining plans and schedules to support operational goals.
• Manage stockpile and waste dump operations and approve detailed schedules, layouts, and open-pit production plans.
• Monitor and optimize drilling and blasting activities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with geologists to optimize grade control and minimize dilution through effective mine designs.
• Ensure mining designs align with regulatory standards and company policies.
