Job summary

OQ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to plan and supervise mechanical maintenance for medium to high complexity issues across the plant's power and water systems. The role requires technical analysis, troubleshooting, and leadership of technicians to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will develop maintenance procedures, review CMMS SAP reports, coordinate spares and contracts, and drive continuous improvement in plant reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
• Proficiency in English is a must; Arabic is a plus.
• Minimum 5–8 years of direct and relevant experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Engineering troubleshooting & root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability.
• Plan and supervise preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment per OEM and plant strategies.
• Provide technical supervision and guidance during maintenance works, overhauls, shutdowns and emergency repairs to ensure safety and quality.
• Collaborate on condition monitoring and performance analysis to resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Develop, review and update mechanical maintenance SOPs and technical documentation; interpret drawings and manuals for maintenance and modifications.
• Review maintenance reports, PTW and failure analyses in CMMS SAP to ensure history and traceability.
• Participate in spare parts and contract management, including vendor evaluation and inventory optimization.
• Support maintenance and shutdown planning to ensure scope, resources and schedules are feasible.

ROLE PURPOSE

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering Troubleshooting amp Root Cause Analysis Analysing complex mechanical issues perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability and availability and supporting Mechanical Leader to Manages the project timeline budget and resource allocation

Mechanical Maintenance Planning amp Execution Plan complex activity supervise and execute preventive corrective and breakdown maintenance activities for rotating and static equipment in accordance with OEM recommendations and plant maintenance strategies

Technical Supervision Provide complex technical guidance and supervision to Mechanical Engineer or mechanical technicians during maintenance works overhauls shutdowns and emergency repairs to ensure work quality and safety compliance

Condition Monitoring amp Performance Analysis Collaborate with other vender and mechanical maintenance team members to work on solving complex mechanical issues

SOP Development amp Technical Documentation Develop review and update mechanical maintenance SOPs work instructions and technical documentation Interpret mechanical drawings layouts and manuals to support maintenance and modification activities

Maintenance Records amp Reporting Review and prepare maintenance reports job PTW and failure analysis reports in CMMS SAP systems to ensure accurate history and traceability

Spare Parts amp contract management Identify critical spare parts prepare technical specifications tender strategies review vendor offers and support inventory optimization for mechanical equipment and Negotiates contracts manages tenders and evaluates vendor reliability Maintenance amp Shutdown Planning Participate in mechanical maintenance and shutdown planning ensuring work scope resources and schedules are technically sound and achievable
