Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Oman seeks a Senior Materials SME to act as the technical authority for construction materials, quality compliance, testing, and material engineering across bridge and transportation infrastructure projects.

Lead material specifications, approve testing plans, ensure durability, review submittals, and mentor QA/QC teams on major GCC projects for optimal project performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering.
• Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering or Structural Engineering is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Membership in recognized professional institutions advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal Materials Engineering authority for the Projects.
• Provide specialist technical advice to project management, engineering, construction, quality, and commercial teams.
• Establish project material compliance strategies and quality management requirements.
• Review and approve material specifications, material submittals, testing requirements, and quality procedures.
• Lead resolution of complex material-related technical issues throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with clients needs, MOTLS, Saudi standards, and international best practices.
• Review contractor material submittals and technical compliance documentation.
• Develop material approval workflows and compliance tracking processes.
• Support procurement teams in technical material evaluations.
• Establish project-wide material testing requirements and QA protocols.
• Review and approve testing plans and laboratory procedures.
• Assess laboratory performance and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Review and validate test results and compliance records.
