Project Overview
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north‑east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, a small town on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway.
Job Summary
Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a Project Senior Logistics Specialist based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to support the above project. The home office – Logistics Specialist will be responsible for supervising less experienced logistics personnel and assisting with logistics responsibilities on the project. The Senior Logistics Specialist performs work as a logistics technical, estimating, operations or commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with a complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the field. This role includes preparation of bid proposals, request for quotation for execution – including freight estimates, budgets – and assistance in the preparation of deliverable documentation; Project Logistics Execution Plans – Module Transportation Study, international and remote multimodal logistics.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform work as a logistics technical, estimating and commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the field office.
- Prepare Logistics Service Provider (LSP) commercial packages, including Request for Quotation (RFQ), commercial and technical analysis/evaluation, bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents; also contract administration of LSP packages.
- Perform domestic and international multi‑leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods.
- Coordinate shipments with requisite internal and external entities.
- Ensure entry of shipment tracking data into Transportation Management System (TMS) and other functional systems/tools to provide visibility of shipment status.
- Prepare logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
- Ensure audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures.
- Identify transport cost and service alternatives to support material/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers.
- Assist the project Logistics Lead as requested with capacity to provide short‑term leadership.
- File and resolve Logistics Service Provider claims.
- Prepare logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits.
- Integrate safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities.
- Assist Project Logistics Lead to develop logistics costs, job hour requirements and reports for project or functional budget formation and management.
- Interact with project management to review logistics strategies in consideration of cost, risk, and schedule assessments.
- Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Network and connect with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
- Operate with minimal supervision with latitude for judgment.
- May assist less‑experienced team members.
Education And Experience Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.
- Home, Field and deployed project experience preferred.
- Experience with medium to large scale projects highly regarded.

- Knowledge of and experience in multimodal transport modes – airfreight, sea freight; containerized, LCL, break‑bulk, barging, and domestic transportation – including oversize/over‑mass.
- Knowledge of and experience in marine conveyance chartering.
- Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms.
- Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020).
- Commercial and contractual acumen.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of applications – Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
