Job summary

SSH is seeking a Senior Design Manager – Infrastructure in Oman to lead the design and delivery of infrastructure packages for major master plans and large-scale development projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, authorities and consultants from concept through detailed design and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline; Master’s degree would be advantageous.
• Professional engineering qualification or chartership is preferred.
• Typically 20+ years of relevant experience with substantial experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design management of large-scale infrastructure and master planning projects from concept through detailed design and tender stages.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary infrastructure packages including roads, utilities, stormwater drainage, grading and utility corridors.
• Ensure infrastructure strategies are integrated with master planning, architectural, landscape, transportation and development requirements.
• Establish and manage design programmes, deliverables, design reviews and key project milestones.
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, ensuring coordinated and technically robust solutions.
• Drive design coordination and interface management across infrastructure disciplines and other stakeholders.
• Review technical submissions, design reports, drawings and specifications for quality, constructability and compliance.
• Manage relationships with clients, government authorities, utility providers, developers and external consultants.
• Lead design workshops, technical meetings and stakeholder presentations.
• Identify and manage design risks, interfaces and constraints throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with Oman regulations, authority requirements, international standards and SSH quality procedures.
• Promote value engineering, sustainability and innovative design solutions while maintaining project objectives for quality, programme and cost.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
