Job summary

Total Safety in Sohar, Oman, seeks an experienced HSE Lead to oversee Health, Safety & Environment for a major brownfield expansion project. You will provide HSE leadership across operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage audits and incidents, and drive continuous improvement of the HSE Management System.

The role requires strong leadership, robust technical HSE knowledge, and proven experience in high-risk industrial environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline required.
NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
10–15 years of HSE experience with 5+ years in lead roles.
Experience in brownfield construction, expansion or live-plant projects is preferred.
Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and risk management.
Fluent English required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Lead the HSE Management System, plans, procedures and programs for the project.
Provide strategic and operational HSE leadership to project teams, contractors and subcontractors.
Mentor and guide HSE Engineers and Officers; conduct regular HSE inspections and audits.
Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Monitor critical brownfield activities including PTW, SIMOPS, LOTO, confined space, lifting operations, and working at height.
Prepare HSE reports, participate in JSA/Risk Assessments and drive continuous HSE improvement.
