Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Data Platform Engineer (Mid-level) to transform and scale a data and ML platform in Saudi Arabia. You will build deployment pipelines, IaC modules, and reusable tooling across data, backend, and infrastructure teams, enabling self-service data services and reliable platform operations.

You will help define governance, runbooks, and documentation while driving toward ownership of shared tooling and templates within six months.

Qualifications

• Deployment ownership: end-to-end ownership of a deployment path with a pipeline, runbook, and postmortem.
• 2+ years of professional software/data/platform/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for engineering tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, explain structure, and diagnose issues.
• Experience with Docker and cloud concepts, AWS familiarity.
• Willingness to work across data engineering, backend, and infrastructure.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants and reviewing generated code for safety and correctness.
• Proactive ownership mindset and accountability for systems.

Responsibilities

• Improve CI/CD pipelines by analyzing existing deployments and adapting workflows.
• Develop and extend infrastructure-as-code modules to match patterns across services.
• Apply data governance standards for new data services and infrastructure.
• Build self-service platform tooling with preconfigured CI/CD, IaC, and governance templates.
• Create reusable modules to simplify pipeline creation and standardize workflows.
• Improve technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides for operators.
• Own data access workflows, designing access-requests processes.
• Take ownership of platform tooling and roadmap for repository and modules.
• Collaborate with data, backend, and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability.
• Incorporate AI tools into workflows while validating and explaining generated code.
