Job summary

Prysmian Group in Oman is seeking a Quality Control professional to implement quality within Operations in line with the quality plan and specifications. You will support testing, inspections, and final packaging across OCI materials and cables.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical engineering, 3+ years in cable QC, and knowledge of testing standards. Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in cable manufacturing facility QC.
  • Knowledge of testing methods and BS/ICE testing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare test certificates as required by Sales and Marketing department of OCI.
  • Assist the QC Manager and Assistant Manager in all third-party inspections of the finished goods in conjunction with the Customer Support Service department.
  • Ensure that the drums are arranged and scheduled for in the testing area of OCI.
  • Assist in testing and final packaging of materials at OCI.
  • Assist in testing of raw materials for manufacturing at OCI.
  • Ensure all cables manufactured are tested strictly according to the OCIs, clients, national and international specifications, and ensure they are fully compliant before dispatch from the Company premises.
  • Ensure the quality test plan is performed according to the clients’ requirements and in its absence within the company requirements.
  • Assist in performing Internal Test Type plan on the cables manufactured in a timely manner.
  • Prepare periodic reports to the management with regards to the material consumption, weight analysis, etc.

Job description

Purpose:

As part of the Quality Control function, being responsible to implement all aspects related to quality within the Operations section of the Company.

Summary of the Job Role:

To implement quality within the Operations and in line with the quality plan, specifications & overall business plan.

Authorities:

Financial None. People None. Operational None.

Key Deliverables:
  • Prepare test certificates as required by the Sales and Marketing department of OCI.

Qualifications:

A Diploma in Electrical engineering.

Skills/Knowledge:
  • Good understanding of cable manufacturing operation and technology.
  • A hand on cable manufacturing analysis is must.
  • Knowledge of different methods testing, international standards, Computer literacy especially MS-Office.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the properties of the materials especially metals, polymers, etc.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving skill and quick decision making.
  • Knowledge of requirements of testing as per BS and ICE systems.
Experience:

3+ years of experience in cable manufacturing facility QC.

Business Understanding:

Good knowledge of cable industry.
