Job summary

Confidential Company seeks a Quality Control Inspector for an oil & gas project in Muscat. The role involves monitoring incoming and outgoing materials, products and services, conducting tests, analysis and reporting to ensure standards are met before customer delivery.

It requires adherence to project QMS and ISO standards. Responsibilities include implementing QC plans, performing functional inspections, initiating corrective actions and maintaining detailed inspection reports to support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certifications: CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI; ASNT Level 2 (UT/RT/PT/MT).
  • Quality management systems and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections on input and output samples, materials, products and services.
  • Initiate corrective actions on non-conformities and monitor to completion.
  • Document inspection outcomes and maintain performance records.

Job description

Responsible for monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing materials products services for the assigned project as well as the associated construction production manufacturing installation etc process Also responsible for conducting tests analyzing measurements and reporting thereof Overall a Quality Control Inspector is responsible for making sure that the material product service meets the expected standards before being sent to the customer so as to arrest reduce the chances of failure non conformity Responsible for all day to day activities and execution of all Quality Control plans for the assigned project in line with organizational and project location specific QMS CQP PQP international standards ISO etc client and statutory requirementsResponsible to perform various functional quality assessments inspections on input samples materials products services and accept reject based on specified internal external criteria and defined procedures Responsible to assess inspect output samples materials products services and accept reject based on specified internal external criteria and defined procedures Responsible to initiate corrective actions on non-conformities and monitor track them to completionResponsible to define functional inspection and test processes and document inspection outcomes by completing detailed inspection reports and performance records Responsible to measure track and monitor improvements to the construction production manufacturing installation etc process to ensure quality controlResponsible for all individual and specific departmental productivity targets financial objectives KPIs and attainment thereof strong Other tasks strong Promoting Group Values Code of Conduct and associated policiesParticipating and providing positive contribution to technical commercial planning safety and quality performance of the organization and in accordance with Client Contractual regulatory requirementsUndertaking any other responsibilities as directed and mutually agreed with the Line Management Responsible for execution of Quality inspections as per SP 1171, Contract quality control plans and inspection test packs. He/she shall report to the relevant area Quality Engineer.

Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • GRP, GRE, GRV, HDPE, LLRTP, PVDF, PPFRP, PEFRP, PVCFRP, CPVC, UPVC (nonmetallic)
Professional Certifications
  • A proven work experience as a GRE QCI ( Specially High Presser lines)
  • Welding Inspection Qualification (CSWIP 3.1 or AWS- CWI) or equivalent
  • ASNT Level 2 or equivalent in UT, RT, PT, MT.
  • Certification in Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, ISO, Total Quality Management or equivalent (preferred)
Skills
  • A proven work experience as a Welding QCI / GRE - GRV, HDPE, LLRTP, PVDF, PPFRP, PEFRP, PVCFRP, CPVC, UPVC (nonmetallic)
  • Familiarity with latest quality-oriented trends in the industry. Knowledge of best practices
  • Strong writing and record keeping abilities. Strong IT skills. Strong communication, planning, organizing and leadership skills.
