Job summary

Client of Skc Management Consulting is seeking a QA/QC Engineer for road and bridges projects in Oman. The role involves maintaining quality plans, performing material testing, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standards. You will conduct soil, stone, concrete and bitumen tests and oversee a site laboratory.

The candidate should have strong QA/QC experience on civil works, be able to perform internal audits, and report to the Site Manager. On-site work in Oman is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA QC for road and bridge projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 quality systems.
• Hands-on testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and bitumen.
• Ability to conduct internal audits and report findings.
• Willingness to work on-site in Oman and set up/maintain a site lab.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality plans and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Train and inspect permanent works; perform verification testing and inspections.
• Conduct soil/stone/field density tests and concrete/bitumen testing.
• Set up and monitor the site laboratory; manage testing schedule and records.
• Report QA/QC results to the Site Manager and client.

Maintaining of quality plans implementing through training and inspection of permanent works verification inspection testing of incoming materials in process works as per quality plan amp relevant standards setting up and monitoring QC lab at site Conducting amp performing internal audits as per ISO 9001 2008 strong strong Reporting to Site Manager Responsible for identifying borrow areas for soil and quarries for stone-materials testing of soil and stone metal samples to assess their suitability testing of field density testing of cement concrete and bitumen etc Well versed in design mixes have GSB WMM Concrete as well as Bitumen related Well versed with BS IRC MOST IS standards and technical specifications site instructions inspections of works and approval of works Responsible for all the operations of the laboratory The Basic duties and responsibilities of sampling and testing of materials and finished works at appropriate stages before commencing the work Responsible for mix designs quality control during the work and after the completion of the work
