Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited in Oman seeks a Coatings Technology E&I NDT QA/QC (Civil) QA/QC (Mechanical) Quality Structural Welding professional to verify materials and test records for IMIR clearance, and to manage welding procedures and QC across structural, piping and tank works.

The role includes site-based qualification testing, NDT, and hydrotest witness duties, with direct coordination with customers and contractors to ensure compliance with codes and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Eligible candidates must hold a General Diploma or BTech in a relevant field.
• Experience in welding QA/QC and NDT inspections is essential.
• Familiarity with codes, material certs and IMIR clearance processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Verify materials, mill test certificates and compliance with codes and company requirements during IMIR clearance.
• Conduct welding procedure qualification tests and maintain PQRs for Structural, Tank & Piping works.
• Prepare Welding Procedure Specifications and conduct qualification tests at site as needed.
• Verify welding consumables BTCs and perform necessary qualification tests at site.
• Prepare job procedures and ITP for Structural, Piping & Tank works.
• Perform periodical site internal audits.
• Visually inspect fit-up and welded joints for Structural, Tank & Piping works.
• Conduct welding inspections (surveillance before, during and after welding).
• Carry out all NDT inspections and prepare inspection records.
• Coordinate with Customer for day-to-day inspections.
• Prepare piping test packages, review and verify on site; punch pending activities.
• NDT clearance of piping test packs.
• Witness hydrotest of Tank & Piping systems.

Job Description

• Verification of materials, mill test certificates and confirming compliance to the code & company requirements during IMIR clearance.*
• Conducting welding procedure qualification tests and maintaining procedure qualification records (PQR) for Structural, Tank & Piping works.*
• Preparation of Welding Procedure Specification & conducting Procedure Qualification test at site per requirement.*
• Verification of welding consumables BTCs & conduct necessary Qualification test at site.*
• Preparation of Job procedure & ITP pertaining to Structural, Piping & Tank works*
• Periodical Site Internal Audits.*
