Job summary

Faena is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Oman to oversee procurement, ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery. You will manage suppliers, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with finance, stores, and operations to maintain inventory and control costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3–7+ years in purchasing or supply chain, and experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite. Strong Excel skills and ethical procurement are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • CIPS or similar certification is an advantage.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support operational needs and cost efficiency.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders in line with approved budgets and requirements.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate with departments (finance, stores, operations) to identify purchasing needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Control purchasing costs and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Review and approve purchase requests and quotations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and contracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
  • Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on pricing and supplier options.
  • Ensure quality standards are met for all purchased items.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for procurement activities.
  • Prepare purchasing reports and performance analysis for management.
  • Ensure ethical and transparent procurement practices at all times.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement of goods and services, ensuring they are obtained at the best quality, cost, and timing.
