Job summary

OmanYP seeks an accomplished Project Manager to assist the Project Director in running complex road and infrastructure projects, advise on design sufficiency, and coordinate across disciplines to ensure effective communication and delivery.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in civil/construction engineering, PMP/PRINCE2 certification, and have over 20 years’ experience (15+ as Project Manager), with proven consultancy exposure on ROADS projects and strong English; Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, engineering management or related field preferred.
• Professional Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or related certification.
• Years of Experience: over 20 years; and as Project Manager over 15 years.
• Proved experience in supervising the construction of complex projects, mainly as a Consultant.
• At least experience in 1 or more projects of ROADS.
• Advanced level of English language. Basic Knowledge of Arabic Language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Director in the running of the project.
• Advise on the sufficiency of the design and information supplied and identify any outstanding or conflicting design issues.
• Liaise with all disciplines Managers/Site Team leaders to ensure effective communication on project matters.
• Develop and implement procedures for planning, managing, supervising construction works, and controlling Project costs.
• Review & approval of technical documents submitted to the Client by the Contractors.
• Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
• Monitoring the Project deliverables meet with the agreed standards and satisfy stakeholder requirements at each stage of the project.
• Monitoring overall project stakeholder relationships and adjusting strategies and plans for engaging stakeholders.
• Applying change control and configuration management processes.
• Reporting through agreed lines on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments.
• Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact.
• Contribute to the resolution of technical issues during the lifecycle of the project.
• Take a proactive role in establishing, assessing, and evaluating project management processes, sharing knowledge, identifying opportunities and providing advice to help improve processes and procedures.
• Apply analytical and project management skills as well as technical writing skills at a task level.

• Professional Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or related certification.
• Years of Experience: over 20 years; and as Project Manager over 15 years.
• Proved experience in supervising the construction of complex projects, mainly as a Consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractors experience will not be taken into consideration.
• At least experience in 1 or more projects of ROADS. Candidates without clear ROAD experience will not be taken into consideration.
• Advanced level of English language. Basic Knowledge of Arabic Language is a plus.
• Report writing skills, social skills, communication, teamwork, problem solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor.
• Willingness to work in a multinational environment firm.
