Job summary

Tawteen is seeking a Planning Engineer to join the supervision services team. You will support the Senior Planning Engineer and Associate Project Managers in planning activities related to schedule and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

You will review contractor work programs, monitor activities against approved plans, and help implement best practices in construction management and planning. A B.Sc.

Qualifications

• The jobholder reviews contractor work programs and monitors activities against approved plans.
• 8-15 years of experience, including prior Planning Engineer role in supervision projects.

Responsibilities

• Review contractor work programs during pre-construction for compliance with requirements.
• Support Senior Planning Engineer in reviewing submittals (staffing, org charts, shop drawings).
• Develop risk management input with the Associate Project Manager and identify contingencies.
• Monitor project schedules and investigate delays with contractors; propose corrective actions.
• Assist in monitoring daily contractor activities and resource allocation per plan.
• Review unit rates for new items; assist with progress reports and take-over/defect certificates as needed.
• Implement corporate policies and procedures.

Job description

The Planning Engineer is a key member of the supervision services team He supports the Senior Planning Engineer and Associate Project Managers with planning activities pertaining to schedule and cost control throughout the project lifecycle The jobholder reviews on contractors work programs and continuously monitors contractors activities against approved plans The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the construction management and planning space and implement best practices where applicable

Responsibilities

Review and check the contractor s work program during the pre-construction phase ensuring compliance with project requirementsSupport the Senior Planning Engineer in the review of contractors submittals including staffing proposals organization charts shop drawings method statements project procedures traffic management plans etc during the pre-construction phaseProvide input to the Associate Project Manager on the development of project risk management plans including the identification of potential risks and corresponding contingency plansAssist in monitoring supervision project schedules and investigating reasons for delays with contractors and recommend corrective measuresAssist in monitoring contractors daily activities and resource allocation against project planSupport Associate Project Managers with the review of contractors unit rates for new work items not covered in the original Bills of QuantitiesAssist the Senior Planning Engineer in monitoring project progressTrack and check the versions of drawings and specifications and ensure that all relevant parties are using the latest revised construction drawingsSupport the Associate Project Manager with reviewing and commenting on the contractors testing and commissioning plan as neededSupport the Associate Project Manager with the preparation and issuance of Take-Over Certificates Defect Liability Certificates Final Accounts and Statements of Completion as neededAssist the Senior Planning Engineer in the development of periodic project progress reportsImplement corporate policies and procedures

Qualifications :B.Sc. in Engineering Experience :8- 15 years. The experience shall include successfully completing a previous position as Planning Engineer in similar projects (Supervision).
