Job summary

Larsen & Toubro seeks a Radiographic Interpretation Specialist to support offshore module fabrication by accurately interpreting RT films and ensuring weld integrity.

You will document findings, maintain traceability, and collaborate with QA/QC, welding inspectors, and production for repairs and re-inspections, while contributing to audits and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• Interprets RT results for welded joints, structural components, piping, and pressure-containing equipment.
• Documents radiographic findings and ensures traceability per project requirements.
• Supports audits by QA/QC teams and coordinates with production for repairs and re-inspections.

Responsibilities

• Interpret radiographic films/digital radiographs of welds and fabricated components.
• Evaluate weld quality and identify discontinuities such as porosity, slag inclusions, lack of fusion, lack of penetration, cracks, undercut.
• Review RT examination results against acceptance criteria and project standards.
• Prepare and maintain RT interpretation reports and traceability documentation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, welding inspectors, and production for repair recommendations and re-inspections.
• Verify film quality, image sensitivity, density, and radiographic technique prior to interpretation.
• Monitor adherence to NDT procedures and quality control plans.
• Assist during client, third-party, and regulatory audits.
• Maintain RT records and support final quality dossiers and turnover documentation.

Job Purpose

To interpret, evaluate, and document radiographic testing (RT) results for welded joints, structural components, piping systems, and pressure-containing equipment in accordance with project specifications, international codes, and client requirements. The role ensures the integrity and quality of fabrication activities for offshore modules through accurate interpretation of radiographs and timely reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret radiographic films/digital radiographs of welds and fabricated components.
• Evaluate weld quality and identify discontinuities such as:
  • Porosity
  • Slag inclusions
  • Lack of fusion
  • Lack of penetration
  • Cracks
  • Undercut and other welding defects
• Review RT examination results against applicable acceptance criteria.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.
• Prepare and maintain RT interpretation reports, records, and traceability documentation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, Welding Inspectors, and Production teams regarding repair recommendations and re-inspection requirements.
