Job summary

2coms in Oman seeks a Steel Fixer to read structural drawings and reinforcement plans, and to cut, bend, place and fix reinforcement steel per project specifications. You will assemble and secure bars for columns, beams, slabs, foundations and walls, ensuring correct spacing and concrete cover.

Role requires 2+ years' experience with reinforcement work, ability to read bar bending schedules, use hand tools and steel-fixing equipment, and readiness to work at heights on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules.
• Knowledge of reinforcement steel fixing and tying.
• Experience with beams, columns, slabs, foundations and walls.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand drawings and reinforcement plans.
• Cut, bend, place and fix reinforcement steel per specs.
• Assemble and secure bars using binding wire and tools.
• Install reinforcement for columns, beams, slabs, foundations and walls.
• Maintain spacing, alignment and concrete cover.
• Use cutting, bending, measuring and tying tools safely.
• Inspect work before concrete pouring and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate with carpenters, concrete workers and site team.
• Handle and position steel bars safely on site.
• Follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Keep tools and work area clean and organized.
