Job summary

ZL Chemicals Ltd. seeks a Construction Manager to oversee site execution on its DBOT polymer facility projects in Oman, coordinating with EPC partners and client teams, and ensuring brownfield tie-ins, shutdowns, and safe delivery from concept to handover.

This expatriate role requires a degree and 15–20 years of oil and gas project experience, with strong interface management and HSE leadership to meet schedule, quality and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering; relevant sector experience required.
• 15–20 years in oil and gas with 10+ years on-site management.
• Experience overseeing brownfield tie-ins and shutdowns.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EPC contractor construction execution; ensure planning, supervision, quality and schedule.
• Review construction methodologies, site organisation and mobilisation against the approved plan.
• Chair site progress and technical review meetings with the EPC Construction Director; drive recovery when needed.
• Provide hands-on oversight of brownfield tie-in, shutdown and isolation work; verify readiness at execution.
• Coordinate shutdown and tie-in windows with client Operations; align work packs and isolation plans.
• Ensure Permit to Work, isolation certificates and Management of Change are in place before work proceeds.
• Work with Quality to ensure ITP approvals and witness special process qualifications (welding, coating, NDE).
• Oversee Material Management and preservation at site; manage logistics across fronts.
• Oversee construction-to-commissioning handover, mechanical completion, punch lists and test packs.
• Own and monitor the construction schedule within the project master schedule.
