Job summary

Diyar United Company is seeking a Network Engineer in Sur, Oman, to provide L2 support for escalated network incidents and manage various network components including routers and firewalls. You will engage in configuring and troubleshooting for optimal performance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and possesses 2–5 years of relevant experience, along with strong TCP/IP knowledge and preferred certifications like CCNA or CCNP. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+ preferred.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for escalated network incidents from L1 teams
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs
• Manage VLANs, WAN links and SD-WAN deployments
• Implement and monitor network security policies, firewalls, IPsec tunnels and VPNs
• Conduct network performance analysis and optimize bandwidth usage
• Document configurations, incidents and resolutions, maintain updated network topology diagrams
• Collaborate with L3 engineers on complex projects and escalations

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

2–5 years of experience in network support or engineering.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+ preferred.

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).

Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
