Job summary
OQ in Oman is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for Heavy Oils to drive optimization across CDU/VDU/DCU/KTU/LTU/SGP units. You will analyze plant data, develop simulations, and lead multidisciplinary teams to improve debottlenecking and energy efficiency while guiding safety reviews and PSM practices.
Responsibilities include coordinating design work, developing heat and material balances, and providing technical leadership for plant modifications, with mentoring for junior engineers.
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant refining/process engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in Heavy Oils CDU/VDU/DCU/KTU/LTU/SGP operations and optimization.
- Proven track record in leading process improvement and debottlenecking initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM), HAZOP, and MOC reviews.
Responsibilities
- Provides robust support while analyses plant’s data using PI and LIMS and provides remedial solutions for deviations.
- Identifies optimization opportunities and debottlenecking opportunities to improve unit efficiency.
- Leads engineering reviews for plant modifications and improvement projects and develops/process simulation studies.
- Promotes process safety best practices and provides technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentors and develops junior engineers and supports cross-functional projects.
