Job summary

STRABAG in Oman seeks an Estimation Engineer to join our tendering team, reviewing documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and converting requirements into priceable BOQ items. You will support bid strategy, obtain supplier quotes, and coordinate with engineering and procurement to refine cost estimates.

Your role requires a Civil Engineering background with 5+ years in infrastructure and road projects, plus strong Excel and estimation software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in UAE construction, preferably infrastructure and road projects.
• Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and tender preparation.
• Strong understanding of UAE construction practices, rates, and market conditions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficient in Excel and estimation software.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for infrastructure and road construction projects.
• Convert tender requirements into clear, measurable, and priceable BOQ items.
• Analyse project scope, identify risks and opportunities, and support bid strategy development.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and tendering teams during bid preparation.
• Prepare technical and commercial cost breakdowns for management review.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, local regulations, and company procedures.
• Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives during the tender stage.
