Job summary

OmanYP is seeking a senior structural designer to lead the analysis, design and detailing of steel frames and associated concrete components for industrial structures. You will manage a qualified design team, ensuring correct calculations, detailing and drawing output, with close integration to production, PPC, erection and project management.

You should bring expert knowledge of steel frame and composite steel-concrete design, familiarity with Indian NBC 2005/IS 800/IS 456 and wind/seismic

Qualifications

• Technical & Analytical Expertise in Steel Frame and member design of industrial structures.
• Knowledge of Composite Steel Concrete design, detailing & fabrication process.
• In depth understanding of Indian codes (NBC 2005, IS 800 & IS 456) related to high rise construction with sound understanding of wind and seismic codes.
• Familiarity with relevant international codes (BS 5950 minimum) and interpretation of geotechnical issues with basic knowledge of precast and post tensioned methodology.
• Proficient in structural software like Excel sheet, IdeaStatica, ETABS, SAFE and Staad Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, Design and Detail Engineering of Steel frame and associated concrete part for structural steel buildings like commercial & residential hi-rise, industrial structures and infrastructure buildings
• Lead team of qualified designers, member designers, connection designers and drawing office in delivering value engineering to all undertaken projects
• Responsibility for delivery and quality of output of design, engineering & drawing office
• Seamless integration of design & drawing office with all associated functions of Production, PPC, Erection and Project Management
• Design team delivery on accurate calculations, sketch steel connection details, conducting analyses and studies as necessary to complete design works
• Mentoring engineering team, evaluation of performances of internal talent and departmental review to develop internal capabilities and eliminate dependence on external agencies for design, engineering & drawing requirements
