Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott is seeking a dedicated hospitality professional to oversee the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and Laundry where applicable. You will lead a team, inspect guestrooms and public spaces, and ensure guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.

The role emphasizes frontline staff management, scheduling, training, and enforcing standards to deliver exceptional service, collaborating with front desk and other departments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years in housekeeping or related field.
• Or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manages housekeeping operations and budgets.
• Verifies guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely manner.
• Inspects guestrooms daily.
• Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned and prepares work assignments.
• Inventories stock to verify adequate supplies.
• Supports and supervises an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces.
• Understands impact of department operations on budget and achieves goals.
• Verifies employees have supplies, equipment and uniforms.
• Communicates areas needing attention to staff and follows up.
• Supervises daily housekeeping shift operations and enforces policies.
• Participates in departmental meetings and communicates goals to produce results.
• Conducts HR activities: training, scheduling, discipline, recognition.
• Celebrates successes and recognizes contributions.
