Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor for our hypermarket in Oman. You will oversee daily operations of the fruits and vegetables section, ensuring freshness, quality, and product availability while driving sales.

You will manage inventory, plan merchandising, and lead a team to deliver outstanding customer service. Strong knowledge of fresh produce standards and stock rotation is essential, with a focus on reducing waste and maintaining planograms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fruits and vegetables department or retail supermarket environment.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce quality standards, stock rotation, and freshness management.
• Experience in inventory control, waste reduction, and merchandising best practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and customer service skills with a results-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities to enhance sales performance.
• Control inventory levels, stock replenishment, and delivery schedules to minimize out-of-stock situations.

• Identify slow-moving items and implement promotional actions to maximize sell-through before spoilage.
• Ensure merchandising standards, planograms, and pricing accuracy are consistently maintained.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene, and food handling standards while maintaining a clean department.
• Lead and develop the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve operational and sales objectives.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor is responsible for implementing quality, range and freshness standards to facilitate an exceptional customer experience in order to achieve set sales targets. The team Leader is key a motivator ensuring all team members are working optimally, and that any problems are addressed immediately so that they do not impact customer service. Coaching and development is a critical responsibility to deliver an exceptional customer service within assigned section.
