Job summary

Gender in Muscat seeks an experienced accounting professional to ensure accurate booking of transactions in line with codes of practice and applicable standards. You will monitor month-end, quarter-end, and annual closings, and prepare financial statements in compliance with local and international regulations.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Ensure that accounting transactions are booked accurately in accordance with professional Codes of Practice, Accounting Standards and Service Level Agreements. Monitor month end and quarter end closing. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and regulations. Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits. Analyze changes and advise management on future courses of action. Formulate long term financial strategies. Assist the management in developing risk management strategies and cost reduction techniques. Update the management on changes in legislation or regulations that may affect the company operations. Ensure proper tracking of fixed assets. Look after implementation and enhancement of financial systems. Implement inventory Valuation Governance. Prepare financial policies and procedures. Create, implement and maintain internal financial controls procedures. Maintain general ledger, reconciliation of accounts, budget account set-up/transfer and chart of accounts maintenance. Carry out any other activities as and when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent. Professional qualifications in charter accountancy such as ACCA, CA, CPA is preferable.

Experience

8 years of experience in financial functions, including 2 years at managerial level in a similar function.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate and lead teams.
