Job summary

ACME Cleantech Solutions seeks an experienced field engineer in Oman to manage field rounds, equipment checks and critical process activities. You will coordinate with the Control Room, perform start-up/shutdowns and ensure safe handovers according to SOPs.

The role requires 8–14 years in fertilizers/agrochemicals with strong ammonia plant operations knowledge across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. A proactive, safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years in fertilizers/pesticides/agrochemicals, preferably in a field engineering role.
• Strong understanding of ammonia processing plant operations across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field rounds and LLF checks to identify abnormal conditions, leakages and process deviations.
• Monitor field equipment and escalate abnormalities promptly to Control Room.
• Carry out start-up, shutdown and changeover of equipment per SOPs.
• Coordinate with Control Room during critical plant operations.
• Ensure safe handover of equipment to/from Maintenance per procedures.
• Follow PTW and LOTO safety procedures during maintenance and operations.
• Maintain PTW documentation and closure records.
• Monitor pumps, compressors, valves, vessels and related field instruments.
• Support DCS/CCR operators during normal, abnormal and emergency operations.
• Maintain shift logs and communicate abnormalities during handover.
• Adhere to HSE and process safety standards at all times.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Conduct regular field rounds and Local Level Field (LLF) checks to identify abnormal conditions, leakages, equipment issues and process deviations.


• Monitor field equipment and promptly escalate abnormal observations to the Control Room (C/R).


• Carry out start-up, shutdown and changeover of equipment as per process requirements and SOPs.


• Coordinate with C/R during equipment operation and critical process activities.


• Ensure safe handover and takeover of equipment to/from Maintenance as per approved procedures.


• Strictly follow the Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO and safety procedures during maintenance and operational activities.


• Ensure proper PTW documentation, records and closure are maintained.


• Monitor equipment condition, including pumps, compressors, valves, vessels and associated field instruments.


• Support DCS/CCR operators during normal, abnormal and emergency plant operations.


• Maintain proper shift logs and communicate abnormalities and pending activities during shift handover.


• Adhere to HSE, process safety and operating procedures at all times.

Job Requirements :

• 8-14 years of experience in the fertilizers/pesticides/agrochemicals industry, preferably in a field engineering role.


• Strong understanding of ammonia processing plants' operations, including mechanical systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation.


• Proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities simultaneously.
