Job summary

Manpower Resources India Pvt. Ltd is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Planner for a steel melting shop.

The role focuses on planning, scheduling, SAP HANA work orders, spare planning, shutdown coordination, and reliability improvement to maximize equipment availability and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, coordinate with Operations and Production teams, and ensure timely execution of maintenance activities

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly, monthly and annual electrical maintenance activities.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance with Operations, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Production teams.
• Ensure timely execution and closure of planned maintenance jobs.
• Create and manage maintenance notifications and work orders in SAP HANA.
• Monitor work order status and generate reports.
• Raise PRs for critical electrical spares and services.
• Monitor spare consumption and inventory levels.
• Prepare detailed shutdown schedules for plant units.
• Lead maintenance teams during shifts and ensure smooth handovers.
• Prepare daily maintenance and KPI reports for management.

Role Purpose Responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and optimizing all electrical maintenance activities in the Steel Melting Shop. Covers SAP HANA work order management, spare planning, shutdown coordination, cost control, and reliability improvement to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual electrical maintenance plans
  • Develop preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Production teams
  • Ensure timely execution and closure of all planned maintenance jobs
• SAP HANA & Maintenance Management
  • Create and manage maintenance notifications, work orders, and maintenance plans in SAP HANA
  • Monitor work order execution and closure status
  • Generate maintenance reports, backlog reports, equipment history, and performance reports through SAP
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment master data
• Purchase Requisition & Spare Planning
  • Raise Purchase Requisitions (PR) for critical electrical spares, consumables, and services
  • Track procurement status and coordinate with Stores and Purchase departments
  • Identify critical spare requirements and maintain optimum inventory levels
  • Monitor spare consumption trends and recommend stock optimization measures
• Shutdown Planning & Execution
  • Prepare detailed shutdown schedules for EAF, LRF, CCM, Utilities, and Substations
  • Estimate manpower, materials, tools, contractor requirements, and execution timelines
  • Monitor shutdown progress and ensure completion within planned schedules
• Shift Handling & Maintenance Coordination
  • Lead and supervise electrical maintenance teams during shifts
  • Allocate manpower and prioritize maintenance activities based on plant requirements
  • Coordinate breakdown maintenance and ensure minimum production losses
  • Ensure smooth shift handover and reporting
• Daily Reporting & MIS
  • Prepare daily maintenance reports, breakdown reports, pending work reports, and shift-wise performance reports
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and prepare monthly MIS reports
  • Present equipment performance and maintenance status to management
• Maintenance Cost Control
  • Monitor maintenance expenditure against approved budgets
  • Track spare consumption, contractor costs, and repair costs
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising reliability
  • Participate in annual maintenance budgeting exercises
• Breakdown Analysis & Reliability Improvement
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and critical breakdowns
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives to enhance equipment availability and reduce downtime
  • Analyze MTBF, MTTR, breakdown trends, and equipment health indicators
• Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and LOTO procedures
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits
  • Promote safe maintenance practices and adherence to SOPs
