Job summary

Oman Investment Authority is seeking an Automotive Electronic Electrical Engineer to oversee embedded electronics for bus chassis and body systems. The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO/TS 16949 compliance, with emphasis on cost, quality, and reliability.

You will support the Engineering Manager in developing projects, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and uptime in a high-volume production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 years in automotive OEM electrical projects engineering
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD/3D electrical design tools
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably bus industry
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Fluent English; Hindi a plus

Definition:

The Automotive Electronic Electrical Engineer is responsible for the embedded electronics technology of buses involving the electronic systems of the chassis and body. Ability to work in the development of projects for the electronic and pneumatic systems to produce the final product. Overall, Purpose of the Role:

Supports the Engineering Manager in the development and implementation of projects for the bus electronics systems on the assembly line, monitoring the flow and performance indices to identify opportunities for improvements and eliminate failures in achieving project results, quality and cost. Identify opportunities, create strategies and take effective measures to improve the results of the bus product. Work as a team and cooperate with the fulfillment of the organization’s objectives, responding affectionately to the tasks assigned to their function, supporting the strategies proposed by the leaders, as well as establishing relationships based on respect, open communication and conflict management.

As an Automotive Electronic Electrical Engineer, you must work extensively in the establishment and maintenance of the process, promoting product requirements in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO / TS 16949.

You must strive to continually improve the use of Lean tools in an engineering department, to reduce costs and improve product quality. Act independently at the organizational level. Results reviewed by the head of the organization. Decisions and results have an impact on the role and its success.

Key Responsibilities:

GENERAL AND TASK MANAGEMENT:

Have operational responsibility for the pneumatic & wiring installation in the layout.

Drive the work from an operational perspective.

Have the capacity to work individually or with a small team actively to secure the deliverables.

Play an active role in the delivery.

Integrate deliveries from others and secure quality and readiness before release

Ensure the deliveries are made as per the requirement and timelines.

Frequent interactions with their counterparts, clarify the requirements and deliver accordingly.

Periodic updates about the jobs to the team leader and group manager.

Develops and implements pneumatic & wiring installation projects within the area of assignment including related routing and clipping solutions

Communicates relevant design and project requirements to external design counterpart as applicable if the detailed design is performed by an outside entity

Ensures design correctness and completeness for all pneumatic & wiring installation releases within the area of responsibility

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

Supervise, monitoring and control resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Monitor and maintain the Engineering Department's Absence Control Procedures to ensure the good level of service.
