Job summary

ELSA, Offshore Energy, seeks a Drilling Supervisor to lead daily drilling operations offshore, ensuring safety, adherence to programs, and efficient wellsite performance. You will supervise contractors and on-site teams, maintain HSSE compliance, and drive cost-efficiency while reporting to the Drilling Superintendent.

The role requires 5+ years in deepwater offshore drilling, OPITO BOSIET, IWCF Level 4, and strong well construction knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Drilling Supervisor in deepwater offshore drilling operations.
• Valid OPITO BOSIET and IWCF Level 4 certifications.
• Strong knowledge of well construction, drilling operations, well control, and offshore HSE management systems.
• Familiarity with drilling reporting systems (e.g., Landmark) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills in multicultural offshore environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily drilling operations at the wellsite, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to drilling programs and company standards.
• Provide on-site leadership and oversight of drilling contractors, service companies, and third-party personnel to ensure compliance with operational, technical, and HSE requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with HSSE policies and regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Monitor drilling operations, identify operational issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize performance and reduce NPT.
• Coordinate mobilization of personnel, materials, equipment and services to support uninterrupted drilling activities.
• Verify availability and maintenance of drilling equipment and backup gear for safe operations.
• Prepare and review material requisitions, loadout plans, inventory records, and end-of-well material reconciliation.
• Review and approve daily drilling reports, service tickets, casing and cementing reports, BHA records, and other wellsite documentation.
• Monitor wellsite costs, maintain expenditure records, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses, implementing corrective actions.
• Lead pre-tour meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE meetings with drilling personnel and wellsite teams.
• Report progress, risks, and performance to the Drilling Superintendent or management.

• Participate in incident investigations, equipment failure analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead pre-tour meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE meetings while providing technical guidance and supervision to drilling personnel and wellsite teams.
• Report operational progress, risks, and performance to the Drilling Superintendent or relevant management.

Qualification/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Drilling Supervisor in deepwater offshore drilling operations.
• Valid OPITO BOSIET and IWCF Level 4 certifications.
• Strong knowledge of well construction, drilling operations, well control, and offshore HSE management systems.
• Familiarity with drilling reporting systems (e.g., Landmark) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural offshore environment.
