Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. is assisting in sourcing a Senior Drilling Engineer for COMPANY wells in Oman.

The role focuses on full well design, planning, budgeting, and safe, cost‑effective execution across project teams. You will mentor engineers, apply cutting‑edge drilling software, and drive continuous improvement. The incumbent will ensure compliance with safety standards, prepare final reports, and support tender specifications to meet project requirements and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level engineering degree is required.
• Minimum ten (10) years of drilling engineering experience.
• Optional: five (5) years in deep water operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full well design and planning for assigned wells.
• Prepare well programs and obtain approvals per workflows.
• Prepare budgets and AFE as per workflow.
• Plan and schedule activities to ensure safety and cost efficiency.
• Coach drilling engineers on project teams to accelerate learning.
• Improve drilling efficiency using state‑of‑the‑art technology.
• Reduce NPT and costs by identifying issues and remedies.
• Review base requirements for tenders to meet costs and HSE.
• Ensure compliance with COMPANY safety standards via on‑site inspections.
• Prepare Final Well Report and conduct After Action Review.

Description

Support and assist Senior Drilling Engineer with all aspects of drilling engineering works for successful, cost effective and safe implementation of COMPANY wells. Provide continuous engineering advice to the overall operations to the Project Team(s) to ensure that quality, safety standards and procedures are met.

• Conducting full well design and planning for wells assigned by COMPANY.
• Preparing well program and obtain appropriate approval as per COMPANY Drilling Workflow process.
• Preparing well program budget and well AFE as per COMPANY Drilling Workflow process.
• Strategize, plan and schedule preparation to ensure all activities are operated in safe and cost-effective manner.
• Coach and train drilling engineers assigned to the project team to enable accelerated learning for the engineers
• Improve drilling efficiency through the application of the state-of-the-art technology in all facets of the operations.
• Reduce NPT and operations cost by identifying problem areas, analyze NPT trends and recommend remedial action.
• Review, analyze and modify base requirement for the scope of work and technical specifications for the tender packages to be in line with project requirement and meeting the minimum cost and HSE requirement.
• Ensure compliance to COMPANY's safety requirement and standards by coordinating and performing on site rig inspections, acceptance test on contracted drilling rigs and 3rdparty equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Improve drilling efficiency by conducting and implementing innovative studies and lessons learnt.
• To prepare Final Well Report and conduct After Action Review after end of well

Requirements

• Possess B.Sc. or B.E Degree in relevant of engineering
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience as Drilling Engineer.
• Optional: Minimum five (5) years of experience in deep water operation.
• Good English proficiency and able to communicate with local.
• Possess valid OPITO-BOSIET
• Pleasant personality and able to interact with local.
• Good knowledge of the Landmark reporting system.
• Proficiency in drilling engineering software (i.e.: Compass, Wellplan, WellCAT, StressCheck, Openwell, Drillbench, WellBarrier, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
