Job summary

Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Process Simulation Twin (PST) and Optimization Engineer to join the Reliability Solutions Department within the Global Manufacturing Excellence Center. The role focuses on deploying online process simulations, optimizing performance, and linking thermodynamic models with real-time data and AI-enabled analytics.

You will coordinate data connectivity between historians, lab systems and simulation software, monitor KPI health, and lead cross-functional teams

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering required.
15+ years in process simulations, online modeling or real-time optimization; 20+ preferred.
Experience with connecting simulations to live data sources and data reconciliation.
Strong understanding of refinery processes and mass/energy balances.

Responsibilities

Lead PST development, deployment and sustainment with real-time data integration.
Configure connectivity between historians, lab systems, and simulation software.
Use PST for automated monitoring of facility health and KPI gaps.
Develop thermodynamic models and equations to reflect current plant state.
Perform offline studies, debottlenecking and what-if analyses.
Act as liaison between data teams and Operations/Process Engineering.
Lead optimization sessions to de-bottleneck units (CDU/VDU, Hydrocrackers, etc.).
Benchmark KPI performance across facilities and develop best practices.
Provide SME input to Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
