Job summary

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG in Muscat is seeking a seasoned civil/mechanical engineer to lead Units Infrastructure projects onsite. You will ensure PQP adherence and coordinate with site teams to hit milestones.

The role requires 10–15 years of Roads and Highways experience, a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree, and strong planning, procurement, and QA/QC collaboration with the Project Director. Daily HSE compliance, drawing control, and timely resource deployment are essential, as you work

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in construction of roads and highways.

Responsibilities

• Ensure copies of the PQP, Procedures, Work Instructions and QC Plans are available for implementation at pertinent locations at site.
• Assess manpower, equipment and other resources required to achieve milestone/target dates and inform the Project Director.
• Coordinate with subordinate staff and execute the work as per planned schedules in conformance with specifications and the PQP.
• Ensure fulfilment of the project HSE requirements at site on a day to day basis.
• Ensure timely availability of manpower, equipment, materials and consumables for execution and coordinate with the Project Director for deployment.
• Ensure timely availability of approved drawings/schedules, technical data for the construction project team and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with the procurement team for procurement activities for the project.
• Continuously assess actual progress against planned programme in coordination with the Planning Engineer.
• Analyze deviations or changes of contract scope, discuss with the Project Director, reschedule if necessary with Planning Engineer.
• Follow-up approval of materials/shop drawings with the Customer/Consultant.
• Coordinate with the QC Inspector for Quality Management System requirements and inspection test requirements.
• Ensure timely disposition of CARs/NCRs raised in the project.
