Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Geology, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of quarry operations and rock quality control experience in marine/breakwater projects.
  • Experience across at least two projects in rock sourcing, testing and production management.
  • Strong knowledge of rock specifications, gradation, and international standards (BS, ASTM).
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume production with rigorous QA/QC.

The project:

The programme includes the development of a state-of-the‑art port facility with the capacity to process millions of tonnes of bulk cargo annually, incorporating marine infrastructure, landside logistics, transportation links, utilities, and operational facilities. Scheduled for completion later this decade, the project represents one of the region's most significant port and industrial infrastructure investments.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a complex, large-scale development that will play a pivotal role in supporting economic diversification, industrial growth, and global supply chain connectivity. Candidates will have the chance to work alongside multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment, helping to shape a strategic piece of infrastructure with long−term regional impact.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Lead and oversee quarry operations to ensure reliable supply of compliant rock materials.
  • Assure rock quality against design and specification requirements (gradation, strength, durability).
  • Supervise sampling, testing, and verification, driving quality control and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering and QA/QC teams to maintain alignment with breakwater design needs.
  • Ensure full traceability, documentation, and reporting of materials.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, safety and operational standards.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
  • Degree in Civil, Geology, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in quarry operations and rock quality control within marine/breakwater projects.
  • Proven experience across at least two projects in rock sourcing, testing and production management.
  • Strong knowledge of rock specifications, gradation, and international standards (e.g. BS, ASTM).
  • Demonstrated capability in managing high-volume production with rigorous quality assurance.
  • Effective communicator with analytical capability and ability to engage, influence and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
