Job summary

Mace is leading a high‑profile port and industrial infrastructure programme in Oman. We seek an experienced project/contract manager to oversee contract execution, alignment with terms, and liaison with the resident engineer, team leader, and client, ensuring delivery meets the programme’s strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will bring 20+ years in major construction projects, strong FIDIC knowledge, and a track record of managing large contracts, including port projects valued at USD

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree (postgraduate qualification in contract management preferred).
• Progress towards chartership with a recognised professional body.
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in project/contract management on major construction/infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience preparing, managing, and overseeing large-scale contracts.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC conditions of contract (preferred).
• Experience in a similar role on at least two port construction projects valued at USD 400M+ each.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the execution and compliance of all project contracts.
• Supporting the resident engineer in drafting and issuing contractual correspondence to contractors.
• Ensuring delivery aligns fully with contract terms and agreed conditions.

The Project

The programme includes the development of a state‑of‑the‑art port facility with the capacity to process millions of tonnes of bulk cargo annually, incorporating marine infrastructure, landside logistics, transportation links, utilities, and operational facilities. Scheduled for completion later this decade, the project represents one of the region’s most significant port and industrial infrastructure investments.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Overseeing the execution and compliance of all project contracts.
• Supporting the resident engineer in drafting and issuing contractual correspondence to contractors.
• Ensuring delivery aligns fully with contract terms and agreed conditions.
• Working closely with the resident engineer, team leader and client to maintain contract adherence across all project activities.
• Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll Need To Have

• A relevant bachelor’s degree (postgraduate qualification in contract management preferred).
• Progressing toward chartership with a recognised professional body and ongoing professional development.
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in project/contract management on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience preparing, managing, and overseeing large‑scale contracts.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC conditions of contract (preferred).
• Experience in a similar role on at least two port construction projects valued at USD 400M+ each.
