Description
Purpose of the Job
Provide technical support for all the department projects in reviewing and signing all the civil documents and drawings.
Co-ordinate civil activities throughout the various construction phases until handover of wells and facilities to operations.
Assist the Company Site Representative/Head of construction with any construction clarifications and follow up the issues with site civil supervisors .
Education & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc Eng or equivalent).
- The candidate must have at least 4 years of appropriate and relevant Oil & Gas Industry experience covering the main aspects of Civil discipline.
- Conversant with all relevant international and Group procedures and standards.
- Sound knowledge of the latest technologies developments is required along with a willingness to initiate and drive these new technologies.
- Excellent communications and inter-personal / leadership skills are essential.
- Team player, acting as a champion to break new grounds and self-motivated.
- Ability to manage the relationship with key stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide support in reviewing civil drawings and scope.
- To provide support in managing construction, commissioning and handover to operations for all company projects activities related to civil scope of work.
- To provide support to resolve all the technical issues with contractors during all the project phases and highlight any deviations from the standards.
- To provide support in managing civil projects in own department.
- To support other disciplines and related departments with specialist discipline input.
- Support quality assurance and HSE compliance audits for civil projects and reviews in accordance with Project requirements.
- To ensure that work is executed in his civil projects within budget and on agreed schedule and quality.
- To ensure that technical integrity is fully maintained and to ensure that any deviations to PDO standards are formally approved by the civil cooperate functional discipline head.
- To ensure that cost reduction opportunities are pursued and exploited wherever appropriate.
- To monitor the technical performance of contractors, against agreed indicators in own discipline.
- To keep abreast of technical development and progress in the oil/gas industry.
- Support in the development and delivery of civil pool strategies/ business plans, consistent with the vision and thrust of corporate.
