Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for an aviation training organisation. You will oversee the Safety Management System, act as Nominated Post Holder for Safety, and ensure compliance with EASA, ICAO, CAA and local regulators across staff, instructors and students.

The role covers risk assessments, safety performance monitoring, in-house safety training, audits, and continuous improvement of safety manuals and procedures, promoting a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Safety Manager or equivalent in aviation
• Experience in an Approved Training Organisation or flight training environment
• Experience as Nominated Post Holder or regulator-approved safety representative
• Strong knowledge of SMS in aviation
• Experience with safety risk assessments and occurrence reporting
• Experience supporting or leading aviation audits

Responsibilities

• Act as Safety Manager and Nominated Post Holder for Safety in an aviation training environment
• Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System
• Conduct safety risk assessments across flight training and operations
• Monitor safety performance and develop KPIs and reports
• Lead investigations of safety occurrences and implement corrective actions
• Deliver in-house safety training for staff and students
• Prepare for internal and regulatory safety audits
• Liaise with aviation authorities on safety matters
