Job summary

Bidfood Middle East in Muscat, Oman is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our onsite finance team, managing core financial operations for our trading business.

You will handle GL, VAT compliance, reporting, budgeting support, and financial analysis, while ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliations. This role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with at least 5 years in trading or commercial environments, and strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in trading or commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Omani VAT, tax, and compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Handle day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee VAT compliance in accordance with Omani regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate smooth financial processes across the organization.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare regular financial and management reports, with detailed analysis.
• Control AR, AP, and stock ageing, ensuring up-to-date records.
• Follow up with customers and suppliers for timely collections and payments.
• Oversee bank and petty cash book reconciliations.
• Coordinate with AR team for timely follow-ups and collections.
• Evaluate pricing and costing to support business decisions.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
