Kāpiti Youth Support is seeking an Employment Broker (0.75 FTE) to join the Te Ara Whakamana team on the Kāpiti Coast. You will build and leverage relationships with employers, schools, and training providers to place rangatahi into meaningful work and training opportunities.

You will work alongside Youth Coaches to support sustainable employment, education and training outcomes, with a strong focus on culturally responsive practice and equitable service delivery.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in employment services, recruitment, business, career development, youth work or equivalent.
• Proven experience in employer engagement, recruitment, job brokerage or education and training pathways.
• Strong local networks across employers, industry and community services.
• Understanding of rangitahi with complex barriers, and a respectful, culturally responsive approach.
• Knowledge of employment agreements, workplace minimum standards, privacy, safeguarding and health and safety.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, presentation and relationship-management skills.
• Excellent organisation and reporting capability.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable service delivery.

Responsabilités

• Build trusted relationships with local employers, industry groups, schools, vocational providers and government employment services.
• Promote inclusive, youth-friendly workplaces and support onboarding and accommodations.
• Source and develop opportunities – visits, tasters, work experience, apprenticeships, vacancies and training pathways.
• Stay across labour-market trends across Kapiti, Horowhenua and wider Wellington.
• Match rangatahi to opportunities by reviewing Individual Development Plans with Youth Coaches.
• Prepare young people and employers for placement – introductions, visits, interviews, applications and expectations.
• Support retention through the 26-week post-placement period.
