Job summary

Pukekohe Hill School is seeking a passionate classroom teacher to join our Year 5 & 6 team for 2027. The role focuses on engaging senior primary students across English, Mathematics, Science, Te reo Māori and the arts, while building strong relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues.

We aim to provide high-quality teaching in a well‑resourced kura, where tamariki are encouraged to grow in confidence and take responsibility for their learning.

Qualifications

• We are seeking a great classroom teacher for Year 5 & 6 in 2027 with strong literacy and numeracy practice.
• A focus on creating engaging learning experiences and high expectations for all learners.
• An emphasis on building strong relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support Year 5 & 6 students with a range of subjects including English, Health, PE, Languages, Maths, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori and The Arts.
• Collaborate with the Year 5 & 6 team to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
• Foster a positive whānau environment and encourage student responsibility for learning.
• Contribute to the wider life of the kura and provide opportunities beyond the classroom.
