Job summary

Carters Panmure is seeking a hands-on Yardperson to support our branch operations. This fast-paced, physical role involves forklift operations, loading, and moving products while delivering excellent service to trade customers daily.

You will contribute to accurate order fulfilment, despatch documentation, cycle counts, and maintaining a safe, tidy yard. Applicants must have a NZ full driver's licence, forklift endorsement, and OSH certification.

Qualifications

• Valid NZ Driver's Licence (Full).
• Forklift Licence (F Endorsement).
• OSH Certificate or equivalent health & safety training.
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load/unload and stock products safely and efficiently.
• Accurately pick, pack, and despatch customer orders; prepare documents.
• Participate in cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly yard and store area.
• Identify hazards and report safety issues to protect customers and staff.
• Support branch team to meet KPIs and branch targets.

Got your forklift ticket and ready to put it to work? CARTERS Panmure is looking for a hands-on Yardperson to join our branch team. This is a fast-paced, physical role at the heart of branch operations - picking, loading, and moving products safely and efficiently while delivering great service to our trade customers every day. You can expect to:

• Operate a forklift to load and unload products, ensuring stock is put away in a timely manner
• Fulfilling customer orders accurately and preparing despatch and transfer documentation
• Participate in cycle counts and stock checks, reporting any discrepancies promptly
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly yard and store area
• Identify and report health and safety hazards, ensuring customers and visitors safety
• Support the wider branch team to meet and exceed KPIs and branch targets

What you will bring

• Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence
• Competency in operating a Forklift with F Endorsed Licence and OSH Certificate
• A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers
• Proficient in navigating computer systems
• Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
• Building industry knowledge is advantageous
