Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Storeperson to join our Lower Hutt project team. You will own the site store and yard operations, ensuring materials, equipment, and deliveries are where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, coordinating storage, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting day-to-day yard operations while operating forklifts safely. This hands-on role requires strong organisation and teamwork on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction store/yard logistics.
• Full Class 1 driver's licence with WTR endorsement and a current forklift licence.
• Experience operating forklifts and moving large/oversize items.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and stock accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with site teams and suppliers.

• Receive and check deliveries; ensure items are complete and undamaged.
• Coordinate storage, distribution and tracking of materials, tools and plant.
• Maintain inventory records and perform regular stock takes.
• Load/unload trucks and prepare outbound freight; support yard operations.

• Keep store, yard and laydown areas clean and compliant with safety rules.

Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Storeperson to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

Join a major construction project in Lower Hutt where you'll take ownership of the site store and yard operations, ensuring materials, equipment, and deliveries are where they need to be, when they need to be there. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines logistics, inventory management, yard coordination, and plant tracking, while maintaining a safe and well-organised work environment.

• Receive, check, and process incoming deliveries, ensuring goods arrive in full and in good condition
• Coordinate the storage, distribution, and tracking of materials, tools, plant, and hire equipment
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete regular stock takes
• Load and unload trucks, prepare outbound freight, and support day-to-day yard operations
• Operate forklifts and other machinery safely and efficiently
• Keep the store, yard, and laydown areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Full Class 1 driver's licence with WTR endorsement and a current forklift licence
• At least five years' experience in a construction storeperson, yardperson, logistics, or materials management role
• Proven experience operating forklifts, including moving large or oversized materials
• Strong organisation skills with the ability to plan ahead and manage competing priorities
• Good computer literacy, numeracy, and attention to detail when managing stock and documentation
• A practical, team-focused approach with the confidence to build positive working relationships across site teams and suppliers

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.
