Job summary

Champion Freight NZ Limited in Christchurch is seeking a Yard Supervisor to lead daily yard and warehouse activities, coordinating freight movements, supervising staff, and ensuring safety and compliance. This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of warehousing operations and customer service.

You will oversee loading/unloading, monitor stock movements, and drive operational excellence with modern WMS systems.

Qualifications

Current NZ Class 2 driver licence with a clean driving record and F endorsement.
Proven experience in Yard/Warehouse supervision or senior forklift role with leadership.
Minimum three years in warehousing, freight, transport or logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of warehouse and yard operations and freight handling.
Experience with loading/unloading, and operating heavy materials handling equipment.

Responsibilities

Lead daily yard and warehouse activities, coordinating freight movements.
Supervise staff and build a high-performing team culture.
Oversee safe loading/unloading and stock movements; ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Monitor yard operations and accuracy of inventory movements in the WMS.
