Job summary

PlaceMakers Oamaru is seeking a friendly, reliable front-line team member to deliver excellent service at our yard and drive-thru. You’ll help customers with product advice, processes orders, and keep safety at the forefront.

This permanent, full-time role offers a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. A forklift licence and a clean Class 1 driving licence are preferred; training is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in retail/building supplies.
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential.
• Full clean Class 1 driving licence.
• Physically fit with health and safety awareness.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Computer and numeracy skills.
• Team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in timber yard and drive thru.
• Load goods onto customer vehicles.
• Process orders and transactions.
• Monitor inventory and perform cycle counts.
• Operate a forklift.
• Pick and load orders accurately.
• Learn a wide range of building products.
• Support a tight-knit team and keep yard safe.
