Job summary

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Wellington-based) seeks a Workspace Lead to manage workspace and service contracts across Wellington and Auckland. You will support the wider property team and deliver proactive, compliant facilities management to enable a productive workplace.

Key responsibilities include partnering with business units, coordinating maintenance with suppliers, budgeting for facilities, and advising on sustainability and future workspace needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in workspace management or facilities management.
  • Solid understanding of the Building Act and compliance codes.
  • Strong Health & Safety knowledge relating to built environments and contractor management.
  • Procurement and ongoing contract management experience.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with project management exposure.
  • Financial acumen for budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Te tūranga - The role

As the Workspace Lead you are responsible for Workspace management and related Service Contracts across Wellington and Auckland sites. The role also supports the wider property team (for cover or specific projects) in their management of RBNZ assets from a landlord perspective.

Day to day you will:

  • Partner with business units to deliver workplace solutions that meet operational needs and enhance the employee experience.
  • Oversee workplace and building environments, conducting inspections and coordinating maintenance and improvement projects with suppliers.
  • Manage and track property-related activities through to completion, ensuring stakeholders are informed and outcomes are delivered on time.
  • Provide expert advice on property and facilities management, sustainability initiatives, budget planning, and future workplace requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience working in a Workspace Management, or Facilities Management role
  • A solid understanding of the Building Act and codes of compliance
  • A solid understanding of Health and Safety relating to the built environment and Contractor (PCBU) Management
  • Procurement and on-going contract management experience.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, ideally with Project Management experience.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
