Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join our Auckland team. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles, machinery and plant to keep them safe and compliant. The role requires rigorous adherence to maintenance schedules and accurate record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably trade qualified as a Heavy Automotive Mechanic, and can work independently or with others. Pre-employment drug screening may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Trade qualification as Heavy Automotive Mechanic preferred.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles, trailers and plant equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on vehicles, plants and equipment (heavy vehicles, utes, trailers and small plants).
• Identify mechanical faults and determine repair methods to return equipment to service safely and efficiently.
• Complete preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing per manufacturer guidelines.

We are looking for workshop mechanics to join our team!

You will be required to work in Auckland

This is a permenent full-time role with guaranteed 30 hours per week.

This role is to maintain, service and repair vehicles, machinery and plant to ensure they are safe, reliable and compliant with operational and regulatory requirements.

The Workshop Mechanic is responsible for completing mechanical servicing, diagnostics and repairs efficiently while maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider operations team to ensure equipment is available for fit for purpose.

Your day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on vehicles, plants and equipment including heavy vehicles, utes, trailers and small plants.
• Identify mechanical faults and determine approriate repair methods to ensure equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently.
• Complete preventive maintenance and schedules servicing in accordance with manufacturer guideline and maitenance schedules.

You need to demonstrate:

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Ideally trade qualified as a Heavy Automotive Mechanic or similar preferred
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles, light vehicles, trailers and plant equipment preferred
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Can work unsupervised or part of a team
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening
• Able to complete basic paperwork when needed
• Understands and practices the principles of zero harm
• Calm, professional temperament and a good work ethic
