Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Pokeno, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter & Welder to join our team. You will design, build, repair, and improve moulds, tooling and production equipment to support our manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll work across welding, fabrication, and plant improvement projects, reading engineering drawings, troubleshooting, and collaborating with production teams to deliver safe, efficient outcomes.

Formación

• Certified Welder qualification
• At least 2 years' welding and fabrication experience
• Strong Arc, MIG, TIG, and stainless-steel welding capability
• Experience operating workshop equipment such as lathes, mills, and presses
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
• Experience working safely in a workshop or manufacturing environment

Responsabilidades

• Welding and fabrication using Arc, MIG, and TIG processes
• Fabricating, repairing, and maintaining moulds, tooling, and production equipment
• Operating workshop machinery including lathes, mills, presses, and other engineering equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and supporting preventative maintenance activities
• Working with manufacturing teams to develop practical engineering solutions
• Taking projects from concept through to fabrication and implementation
• Identifying opportunities to improve plant performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards and applying 5S principles
• Contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
