Job summary

Whanganui District Health Board - Non-Clinical Vacancies invites applications for a Workforce System Training & Adoption Specialist. The role supports the Payroll Stabilisation Programme in Whanganui, delivering training across multiple formats and supporting go-live and post-go-live activities.

You will partner with operational leaders to build capability, develop user guides, and ensure effective use of Mahi ē Taea (UKG Pro WFM) during the transition.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience delivering training, coaching users, and building capability across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Confident facilitating training sessions for groups of varying sizes, able to explain technical concepts in a simple, practical way.
  • Experience working within payroll, workforce management, rostering or related operational systems.
  • Knowledge of UKG Workforce Pro / UKG Dimensions / Kronos Workforce Central is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Holidays Act 2003 will be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom, virtual and on-site training across Whanganui for new workforce systems.
  • Facilitate drop-in sessions and provide ad-hoc support during implementation.
  • Capture common questions and feedback to develop user guides, FAQs and other learning resources.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Workforce System Training & Adoption Specialist to support the Payroll Stabilisation Programme in Whanganui. This is a pivotal role focused on driving successful adoption of Mahi ē Taea (UKG Pro WFM).

You will play a key role in preparing managers and employees for the successful implementation of Mahi e Taea, supporting the organisation through training delivery, Go-Live and post go-live support. You will work closely with operational leaders to build confidence and capability across the organisation, provide valuable feedback to project teams and help ensure accurate time entry feeding payroll processes are operating effectively throughout the transition.

The successful candidate will deliver classroom, virtual and on-site training across Whanganui, supporting employees and managers in the effective use of the new system. They will facilitate drop-in sessions and provide ad-hoc support during implementation, helping users resolve issues and build confidence in real time. Working closely with local champions and key stakeholders, the successful candidate will capture common questions and feedback to develop user guides, FAQs and other learning resources, while contributing to ongoing capability building and long-term system adoption across the organisation.This is an exciting opportunity to combine workforce systems expertise, training delivery, stakeholder engagement, and change support within a significant organisational programme.

About the Team/Service/Location

Based in Whanganui you will be part of the Payroll Stabilisation Project within People and Culture, working closely with the Payroll Stabilisation Project Team, Rostering & Automation team, Payroll, Reporting, AskHR, and wider People & Culture stakeholders.

About You

You are a confident trainer, systems specialist, and relationship builder who enjoys helping people navigate change and get the best out of workforce systems.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering training, coaching users, and building capability across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Confident facilitating training sessions for groups of varying sizes, able to explain technical concepts in a simple, practical way.
  • Experience working within payroll, workforce management, rostering or related operational systems.
  • Comfortable supporting users with different levels of experience, culture and digital confidence
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence positive adoption of new systems and processes.

Applicants with payroll, rostering or workforce management experience who have a passion for supporting others and driving successful system adoption are encouraged to apply. Experience with UKG Workforce Pro, UKG Dimensions, Kronos Workforce Central, or similar workforce management systems, along with knowledge of the Holidays Act 2003, will be highly advantageous.
