Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa in Wellington seeks a Centre Coordinator for a part-time, term-time role totaling 9.5 hours per week. Working with centre whānau and support staff, you will foster leadership in sessions and strengthen adult education within a whānau-led environment.

The role emphasizes Playcentre philosophy and child-led learning. You will guide curriculum delivery, support staff development and ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance while honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori

Qualifications

• Confidently builds and maintains strong relationships with centre whānau.
• Provides guidance and practical solutions with a centre-focused approach.
• Proficient with technology to support learning and administration.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led experiences.
• Modeling and supporting delivery of high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide advice on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery and compliance.
• Ensure sessions meet Health and Safety and regulatory requirements.
• Recognise Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and actively promote Māori cultural values within Playcentre.
