Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Asset Delivery Platform team in Wellington. The role focuses on improving platform reliability, security, scalability, and deployment efficiency, while advancing automation and reusable services across teams.

You will develop pipelines, scripts and automation to reduce manual effort, and ensure platforms remain secure and fit for purpose throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting, engineering, and enhancing enterprise platforms to ensure reliable and resilient technology services.
• Experience with platform configuration, automation, upgrades, lifecycle management, release management, and cost optimisation within production environments.
• Ability to apply IT service management principles, operational support processes, and incident and problem management practices to maintain service excellence.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex platform issues while effectively managing operational risk and implementing secure engineering and governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining automated delivery pipelines for platform configuration and code promotion Platform Engineering.
• Creating and enhancing scripts, tools, and automation solutions that reduce manual effort, increase efficiency, and improve operational performance.
• Configuring, building, and supporting enterprise platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, resilient, and fit for purpose.
• Developing reusable platform components, templates, and automation capabilities that enable consistent, reliable, and efficient technology delivery across teams.
