Job summary

Watercare Services Limited in Newmarket, Auckland, is seeking a water quality scientist to provide subject matter expertise to our operating teams, other water industry practitioners and internal partners. The role helps protect the environment and public health while supporting a growing city.

You will contribute to delivering water quality performance goals, maintain data and systems, and develop processes for drinking water.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a tertiary degree in science, biological science, engineering or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to develop data and manage data collection systems.
• Knowledge and experience in business continuance systems and quality systems.
• An understanding of drinking water regulation and public health risk management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of Watercare's water quality performance goals and objectives, aligned with our business and customer expectations.
• Maintain water quality data, systems and associated programmes.
• Develop and management of business processes associated with drinking water.
• Enhance our communities understanding of water quality by providing water quality science expertise, assisting with education programmes and community engagement activities.
• Manage the provisions of water quality metrics to our customers and connected communities.
