First Mates, Last Laugh is a lively restaurant located at Westhaven Marina, Auckland. We are seeking Front of House Superstars for a fixed-term summer season and part-time shifts.
You will deliver exceptional guest experiences, take orders, upsell, and maintain a high service standard while working with a friendly team in a fast-paced setting.

We operate seven days a week, from 11am to late, and we are looking for skilled Front of House Superstars to keep creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Fixed-term (Summer season) and Part-time positions available.

This role is focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining consistently high standards of service, while contributing positively to a busy and supportive team environment.

You must have a passion for the hospitality industry
Take food and beverage orders (ensuring they are accurate for table, guest position and coursing), serve orders, answer questions and attend to guest requests
Ensure that guests receive efficient and courteous service at all times, addressing guest concerns, and resolving complaints
Interact with guests and advise on food, wine and beverage options. When needed advise on beverage & food pairing
Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials
Upselling through the knowledge of our products and creating an engaged and authentic rapport with our guests
Confidence managing and maintaining a multiple-table section while following our sequence of service
Maintain a high standard of table service, using established food handling and serving techniques
Ensure that customers receive efficient and courteous service at all times
A minimum of 1 year working in a restaurant environment as a section waiter
Commitment to providing excellent guest experiences
Good knowledge of local and international food trends, wine and beverages
Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling skills
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to multi-task & work competently under pressure
On-Brand and personal appearance to set standards
Positive energetic attitude, outgoing, friendly personality
Organisational ability
Ability to receive constructive feedback and or instructions
